Construction accident at football stadium results in fatality

There are many potential risks that can arise in connection to construction work. For example, construction workers sometimes end up working in locations that pose falling risks, such as tall structures with significant openings.

One hopes that construction companies here in New Jersey make sure to have proper safety procedures and policies in place regarding work done in locations where falling risks could be present. Such policies and procedures can play an important role in preventing falling accidents from occurring on a work site.

Falling accidents at construction sites can be a devastating type of accident. Such construction accidents sometimes lead to a worker dying. This can be seen in a construction accident that happened this week at a college football stadium in another state.

The stadium in question is Kyle Field, the football stadium of Texas A&M. Renovation work is currently being done on this stadium.

Late Tuesday morning, a 25-year-old man who was an employee of a demolition company was performing work at the stadium in relation to this renovation project. The man then fell from four stories up. The injuries the man suffered from this fall ended up being fatal.

According to the article on ABC News’ website which reported on this story, authorities are currently looking into this fatal construction accident. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is one of the agencies that is involved in these investigative efforts. One wonders what conclusions OSHA and the other investigating parties will ultimately reach regarding the construction site accident and its causes.
